The community of Callingwood South is a residential area that also hosts many local businesses and is located just below Callingwood Park. This neighbourhood has an eclectic mix of homes, boutiques, and recreational facilities, which make it a very active and vibrant subdivision to the west of Edmonton city centre.

This neighbourhood takes up less than a half square kilometer and has a very open street plan that allows for a refreshing amount of space between roads and dwellings. Houses for sale in this community are primarily duplexes, multifamily homes, and townhouses. The use of shared community lands allows for residents to bond, and this section of Callingwood is known for being friendly and welcoming to new residents.

Although this area incorporates a lot of open space into the layout, there are many attractions to the area. Most parents use the schools in adjoining Callingwood North for education, but daycare services within the neighbourhood allow working parents to find quality care and preschool learning for younger kids. Wonderworld Callingwood Daycare and The Sunshine Factory serve the community in creating a positive space for socialization and play toddlers and kindergarten children.

Callingwood South also enjoys a convenient shopping plaza on the west side of the subdivision. This provides fresh foods and groceries at the Canada Safeway, and also has financial and banking services for the residents through TD Canada Trust. Japanese Bistro Kobe is a popular dining establishment within the neighbourhood, and residents who wish to explore the amenities of other areas of Edmonton will find many local and city bus stops throughout Callingwood South.
