Description

Inglewood is one of the larger communities in the greater Westmount area and is located somewhat centrally and to the east side of this district. This neighborhood was actually incorporated into the city in two parts, with a portion of Inglewood becoming the property of Edmonton at the beginning of the 1900’s and the rest gaining appropriation several decades later. Although development occurred in very distinct stages, the community bears a relatively uniform grid pattern street plan.

Inglewood has both commercial and residential zoning, with most of the businesses situated to the west side of the neighborhood, along Groat Road. As a more established community, Inglewood is also very pedestrian friendly, with well connected sidewalks and an easy to navigate terrain. Inhabitants are able to gain foot access to shopping, recreations, and adjacent communities, and bus stops are prevalent across the development.

Homes for sale in Inglewood vary greatly, and include a large amount of duplexes and townhouses, as well as single family dwellings. These have considerably well portioned lots for both private and shared land, and a tendency towards the use of trees and forested tracts offers seclusion and privacy. Parents in Inglewood will find that local education is easy to come by, with private and public institutions. Some area facilities include the Inglewood School and Westmount School, along with Edmonton Catholic Schools. Pre-school and daycare services are also available through Connect Society’s Early Childhood Services.

Along with several small parks that provide recreational space, Inglewood residents can make use of the community gardens. The local community league is also highly active in sponsoring events and festivities.
