Sherbrooke Houses For Sale - Edmonton, AB
The neighborhood of Sherbrooke is essentially the mirror twin of abutting Dovercourt within the greater Westmount area. This community is south of Yellowhead Trail with the diagonal roadway of St. Albert Trail as the western border and the separation from Dovercourt. Like its sibling, Sherbrooke was incorporated into Edmonton in the early 1900’s but remained mostly farmlands until the middle of the century.
Sherbrooke also does not have an official central park, although the curvature of the street plan does use open and common lands as part of the overall design feature. This makes for a friendly atmosphere that is also quite pedestrian friendly.
Homes for sale in Sherbrooke enjoy fairly large lot sizes, and the use of trees and natural landscaping lends residences a greater sense of seclusion and peacefulness. Houses are mostly single family structures, with some duplexes. Another effort to keep this largely residential neighborhood more restful is evidences in bus stops only along the crescent of Sherbrooke Avenue and the border roads. Residents still find the access to public transportation quite good, as this is a smaller community.
Parents in Sherbrooke have good choices for education for children. Edmonton Catholic Schools serve much of the greater Westmount district and St. Pius X School is found to the eastern side of the development. The community lands that are located in the central square let inhabitants enjoy outdoor recreations and leisure time, with skating rinks, walking trails, and playgrounds. Sherbrooke Community League is also highly active and sponsors neighborhood events throughout the year.
